How do I stop answering repeat questions in my Discord?

You stop answering repeat questions in Discord by giving a bot the written answers and nothing else. Connect one server, publish the answers as short articles, and the bot replies in the channel from those articles. Questions it cannot match become tickets with an owner, so a member is never left waiting on whoever happens to be online.

The cause

Why does this keep happening?

A community server answers the same ten questions on a loop: how do I get the role, where is the download, is there a refund, when is the next call. Each answer scrolls away within an hour and the next member asks again.

Mods burn out on exactly this. A survey of service leaders found 80% say at least a fifth of their tickets are repetitive and easy, and in a Discord the share is higher, because nothing is written down where a member will find it.

The fix is a bot that only knows your answers, so it can be trusted to post them, and a queue behind it for the questions that need a person.

The fix

How do I fix it, step by step?

1

Connect the server and pick a channel

From the DeskCrew dashboard, click Connect Discord, authorise the bot into your server and choose the support channel. One server is included on the free plan.

2

Publish the ten answers as articles

Pull them from your pinned messages and your DMs. Answer first, under 200 words each. They also become your public help center.

3

Let the bot answer from the articles only

A member asks in the channel, the bot answers from your article. When nothing matches, it opens a ticket thread instead of guessing, and a mod is pinged.

4

Mods reply in the thread with /reply

The reply lands where the member asked. The ticket keeps the history, so a second mod picking it up reads the thread, not the backlog.

5

Add the questions that still reached a mod

Once a week, the tickets that needed a person are the articles you have not written. Add them. The loop gets shorter every week.

What to expect

What changes, and what does not?

01

It only answers what you published

The bot does not read your whole server history or the internet. That is why you can let it post: it quotes your articles or it hands off. The first fortnight is writing articles from the handoffs.

02

One server on the free plan

A network of servers needs Pro. For one community, one server and one channel is the right shape.

03

Mods still own the real questions

Account problems, disputes and anything personal go to a person. The bot removes the loop so the mods have time for those.

FAQ

What else do people ask?

Do members need to leave Discord or make an account?

No. Members ask in your server the way they always have. The bot answers in the channel from your articles, and a question it cannot answer becomes a ticket thread carrying their Discord identity. Leaving an email is optional, for members who want the reply even after they close Discord.

How is this different from ModMail or Ticket Tool?

Those are Discord-only inboxes, and good ones. This adds an AI that answers the repeats from your published articles before a mod sees them, one inbox shared with your website widget, and email reachback. If your only need is a ticket channel, the simpler bots are fine; the difference is the answering.

Will the bot say something wrong in front of the whole server?

It answers only from the articles you published and says it does not know otherwise. It cannot invent a rule or a refund policy. If an article is wrong, the bot repeats it, so the weekly review of handoffs is also where you catch a stale article before a member does.

Can I require approval before it posts?

Yes. Replies the AI drafts for mods stay in an approval queue until a person sends them, which is the default for anything beyond the published articles. Many servers run with approval on for a few weeks, read the drafts, and then let the article answers post directly once the articles have earned it.

Is a Discord support bot free?

Yes. The DeskCrew free plan includes the Discord bot for one server, ticketing with full history, the public help center and ten AI answers a month, with no card. A large server with daily questions moves to Pro at $29 a month flat, which includes 150 AI answers and email-to-ticket.
