Receive support email at your own address (support@yourdomain)
Want emails to [email protected] to become DeskCrew tickets? You don't move your email to DeskCrew. You simply forward one address to your workspace. Takes about five minutes, and nothing about your existing email changes.
1. Find your workspace's inbound address
Open Dashboard → Install and find "Turn your support email into tickets." Your inbox address is shown there with a one-click copy button. It looks like this:
[email protected]
Take the address from that page rather than typing it out from any article, including this one. The Install page is the only place that shows your real address, and it is always current. You can rename the handle there too (2 to 40 lowercase letters, numbers, or hyphens).
Older guides may show a different address. Some earlier articles described an address built from your board link. That form still works for existing setups, but it breaks silently if you ever rename your board URL, so it is no longer the one to use. If you set up forwarding before August 2026, it is worth switching to the Install-page address.
2. Forward your support address to it
At whatever service handles your domain's email, create a forwarding rule from your public address (say, [email protected]) to your inbox address above.
- Cloudflare (if your DNS is there): Email → Email Routing → Create address → forward to your inbox address. Free, no mailbox needed.
- Google Workspace: Admin console → Apps → Gmail → Default routing, or a simple forwarding filter on the mailbox.
- Most registrars (Namecheap, GoDaddy, etc.) offer free email forwarding in their DNS panel.
You can forward as many addresses as you like. Help@, contact@, hello@ can all point at the same inbox address, and each email becomes a ticket in the same queue. Want everything sent to your domain captured? Use your provider's catch-all rule.
Most providers send a one-time confirmation to prove you own the destination. That email arrives as a ticket in your DeskCrew inbox, so you just open the ticket and click the link.
3. Send a test
Email your support address from a personal account. Within a minute you'll see a new ticket in your dashboard and get a "New ticket in the queue" alert in your own inbox.
If nothing arrives, the usual cause is a forwarding rule pointing at an address that was typed by hand rather than copied from the Install page. Compare the two character by character.
How the conversation flows after that
- You reply from the ticket in DeskCrew. The customer receives a branded email from your workspace.
- When they reply to that email, it threads back onto the same ticket automatically (and reopens it if it was closed). No configuration needed.
- If you've enabled the AI assistant, each inbound email also gets a suggested draft waiting in your approval queue.
Optional: send from your own domain
By default replies arrive from your workspace name over our shared sending address. On the Pro plan and above (and during your trial) you can send from your own domain instead: Dashboard → Install → "Send from your own domain" walks you through adding two DNS records and verifying. Your forwarding keeps working; this only changes the from address on outgoing mail.
