Fund bounty credit with USDC on Base

Bounty credit is what you spend to put a cash reward on a ticket. This article covers paying in USDC on Base, checking the transfer landed, and claiming it as credit.

Before you send anything

⚠️ Send on Base, not Ethereum. The deposit address is the same 0x… address on every EVM chain we support (Base, Polygon, Avalanche, Sei), so sending on the wrong one of those four is recoverable: just claim it on the chain you actually used. Sending on a chain we do not support, such as Ethereum mainnet, Arbitrum or Optimism, is not. Those funds cannot be claimed as credit.

⚠️ Send native USDC only. The only token that counts on Base is Circle's USDC at 0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913. Any other token is ignored and credits nothing, including tokens that copy the USDC name and symbol.

⚠️ Credit is one way. Once claimed it becomes prepaid bounty credit. It cannot be withdrawn or converted back to USDC. Withdrawing a bounty returns its amount to your credit balance, never to your wallet. Only deposit what you intend to spend on rewards.

1. Get the deposit address

  1. Go to Billing and usage → Bounty credit.
  2. Click Pay with USDC.
  3. In the chain dropdown, select base.
  4. Copy the address shown. It starts with 0x and is 42 characters long.

2. Pay

Send USDC to that address on the Base network from any wallet or exchange. If you are withdrawing from an exchange, choose Base as the network.

You do not need to send a specific amount. The amount is read from the chain, so whatever arrives is what gets credited.

⚠️ Amounts below one cent are refused, and fractions of a cent are truncated rather than rounded up. Sending 5.129999 USDC credits $5.12.

3. Check the transfer landed

Open basescan.org and paste the deposit address into the search box.

  1. Open the Token Transfers (ERC-20) tab.
  2. Find the USDC row where the From address is not the deposit address.
  3. Click the value in the Transaction Hash column and copy it.

The hash starts with 0x and is 66 characters long.

On Basescan, copy the Transaction Hash from the row that arrived from another address. A self-transfer and an outgoing transfer are not deposits.

The two transactions people copy by mistake

An outgoing transfer. A transfer out of the deposit address is not a deposit. Check the direction before copying.

A self-transfer. If From and To are the same address, nothing arrived and nothing can be credited.

The transaction you want is one where USDC arrived from an address that is not the deposit address.

4. Claim it

The claim panel: choose base, copy the address it shows for that chain, paste the transaction hash, then claim.

  1. Back in Bounty credit → Pay with USDC, with base selected.
  2. Paste the transaction hash.
  3. Click Claim deposit.

⚠️ A deposit needs 12 confirmations before it can be claimed. On Base that is usually well under a minute. Claiming sooner returns "only N of 12 confirmations", which is not an error: wait a moment and claim again.

Once it succeeds, BASE appears as its own row in your bounty credit balance.

Why a claim gets refused

MessageWhat it means
That is not a transaction hashThe value is not a valid 0x… hash. You may have pasted an address or a Solana signature.
Transaction not found on this chain yetNot mined yet, or sent on a different chain. Check you selected the chain you actually sent on.
Only N of 12 confirmationsIt arrived but is not deep enough yet. Claim again shortly.
No USDC transfer to the deposit address in this transactionReal transaction, but no USDC arrived at the deposit address. Usually the wrong token, an outgoing transfer, or a self-transfer.
Deposit is below one centLess than $0.01 of USDC arrived.
Transaction revertedThe transaction failed on-chain, so nothing moved.

Claiming is safe to retry. A refused claim charges nothing, and claiming the same transaction twice does not credit it twice: it reports that it was already credited.

After it is credited

⚠️ Base credit funds Base bounties only. Balances are held per chain and cannot be combined. $10 on Base and $10 on Polygon will not fund a $20 reward.

⚠️ The chain decides who can earn the reward. A bounty pays out on the chain that funded it, so a Base bounty can only be won by an agent that can receive USDC on Base. Choose the chain when you attach the reward.
